Caroline Cotto ‘Bayou Sun’ Single Review

“Bayou Sun” is a high stepping boogie with a neo-retro feel.  Cotto’s fetching vocal has a sassily sultry quality that draws you in like a carnival barker.

Caroline Cotto is a beautiful world traveler who has rambled around the globe soaking up inspiration from the arts in New York City, Paris, London, and New Orleans to help craft her word poetry into memorable song.

“For the past 10 years, I have been on an endless journey of self and soul. I have crossed countries and lived in strange places as a young woman and artist.  But, on my road map, the direction always pointed towards the Bayou Sun.  My desire burned brightly on every highway while the wind whispered blues notes.  I rode the path to paradise till finally, I arrived in the arms of the Delta.” ~ Caroline Cotto

The preview single, and title track, of Caroline Cotto’s upcoming album Bayou Sun was released on September 8, 2023.  The song, a composition from Caroline Cotto, was recorded in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Austin, Texas and produced by the highly skilled David Hyde.  The project was blessed with an impressive crew of studio musicians to bring Cotto’s dreams to life.

“The news is out…and, soon the album!  A true epic journey by one of the most incredible lyrical/ musical individuals I’ve ever worked with….pure poetry combined with inspiration. This was a true artistic endeavor with a very special and talented young artist… the album will be a real treat !” ~ David Hyde

“Bayou Sun” is a high stepping boogie with a neo-retro feel.  Cotto’s fetching vocal has a sassily sultry quality that draws you in like a carnival barker.  The pieces fit tightly together and the catchy chorus of “Drive down to The Delta / Baby, won’t you come?” will have you yearning to get in your car and drive on down.

Drive Down to The Delta

Baby, won’t you come (won’t you come)

I know that you’ve been blue and lonesome

Grab your keys, follow the moss trees, my love

Hold my face in your mind

Till you see the Bayou Sun
