The Park Avenue Experience issues Diário, a lovely album of contemporary groove music that delights more with every hearing.
Emanating directly from a mix of jazz, funk and soul that recalls the best of Brazilian music, this new release by The Park Avenue Experience (out 1 April, 2026) is sure to intrigue every fan of contemporary groove music. The album, entitled Diário, displays rich orchestration and a relentless percussive beat, supplemented by flute and keyboards.
Frankly, this is an astonishing release for 2026, when beat-driven music has largely surrendered melody and structure. If you’ve listened at all to the likes of Jobim, Ahmad Jamal, Charlie Byrd and classic recordings of Joao Gilberto, Stan Getz and Joe Sample, you will immediately appreciate what this new jazz trio has accomplished. High praise indeed, but these ten tracks delight more with every hearing.
So, who is The Park Avenue Experience? They are a live stage trio, currently performing throughout Europe, with hopes of touring North America. The group is headed by Fabio Puglisi, a renowned musician and producer, better known for being part of Soul Basement. He has been on the international music scene since 1997. Here is what he said recently about this new recording:
‘I’ve been deeply inspired by the urgency and fundamental importance of safeguarding the beauty of our planet, and particularly its greenery and nature in general.”
“Diário is a love letter to movement as well, to those moments when music takes hold of your body and refuses to let go. I wanted to create something immersive, a record that feels alive from the first note to the last”.
We found the album to fulfill Fabio’s intentions in every way: it is a sophisticated mix of rhythm, harmony and soul.
